Pearson announces local distributor for NZ education market

via PANZ

Earlier this year Pearson announced that it had taken a decision to outsource its representation in New Zealand to a third-party distributor.

Effective September 1, Edify Ltd has been appointed as exclusive distributor of Pearson’s products in New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Niue, Tonga, Cook Islands, Tuvalu, Tokelau, New Caledonia and Vanuatu.

Edify is owned and operated by Adrian Keane who has a long association with Pearson and the publishing industry, having been with Pearson for 21 years serving as Managing Director from 2009 to 2013. He is also currently the Chair of Copyright Licencing Ltd NZ and past president of the Publishers Association of New Zealand.

Edify will represent Pearson’s Primary and Secondary schools products and services, as well as those of the ELT, Vocational and Higher Education markets. There will be a team of sales representatives to cover all these products across New Zealand as well as a customer services team to deal with orders and queries.

“We are delighted that Edify will represent us in New Zealand,” said David Barnett, CEO of the Pearson Australia Group. “Adrian has an excellent understanding of the education market in New Zealand and his experience – and that of his team - in all facets of the industry means they are best placed to promote and build Pearson’s presence in New Zealand.”

Until August 31 all processes and services continue as usual.
