Ed Victor

Renowned literary agent Ed Victor has died aged 78, his agency has confirmed.
In a statement, the agency said: "It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the death of Ed Victor CBE, Chairman and founder of the Ed Victor Literary Agency. He died of a heart attack late in the evening on 7th June at the London Clinic after a long battle with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)."



Art historian and curator Rosalind Blakesley has won the fifth annual Pushkin House Russian book prize for her title The Russian Canvas: Painting in Imperial Russia, 1757-1881, published by Yale.


Your Guide to Hell

John Murray is publishing a biting satire on modern politics by Frankie Boyle called Your Guide to Hell following a "hotly contested" auction.
Senior commissioning editor Kate Hewson bought world rights to the book, designed "to guide us through this political wasteland we all call home", from Hannah Chambers at Chambers Management to publish in hardback, e-book and audio download in October 2017.



Paula Hawkins swam upstream and back into the Weekly E-Book Ranking number one spot, with Into the Water usurping Peter James’ Need You Dead.

  





Frances Hardinge

US film and TV producer Louise Goodsill has optioned Frances Hardinge's award-winning novel The Lie Tree (Pan Macmillan Children’s Books).
