Mission to Motherhood will inspire anyone facing the possibility of a childless future. Author Amira Mikhail shares her powerful story of how she tackled and overcame obstacle after obstacle on her journey to motherhood – from fibroids, endometriosis, infertility and miscarriage, through IVF and surrogacy, to finally bringing her baby into the world.

‘When I felt alone, stressed and afraid, hearing other women’s stories pulled me through.’ The power of shared experiences propelled Amira to write this book for those who are still suffering alone, who are victims of the ‘silent epidemic’ of infertility.

This is a story of hope, courage and determination, and a refusal to give up the dream of motherhood.

·         Full of practical tips for those working their way through the medical aspects of infertility

·         An inspiring story for women, and couples, coming to terms with infertility

·         Helpful to the wider family and friends supporting the surrogacy journey

·         Explains and challenges the current complex legislation in New Zealand around surrogacy

Amira Mikhail was born and raised in Canada. After graduating as a veterinarian in 2006 she moved to Christchurch, New Zealand, where she has lived and worked for over 10 years. Unable to conceive naturally, she finally became a mother through surrogacy. She wrote this book to provide information and hope to those who continue to struggle on their journeys to parenthood.
